Day Break is a social model, group respite program for caregivers and their care recipiants. This program is designed to provide care recipiants with opportunities to enjoy social and recreational activities in a safe and secure environment. Day Break meets three times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-2pm. Day Break meeting locations are at the Boone United Methodist Church on Mondays and Fridays and Deerfield Ridge Assissted Living on Wednesdays.
Led by a certified Tai Chi for Health Institute instructor, the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention program has been shown to improve movement, balance, strength, and flexibility; offer relaxation; and decrease pain and falls. It is appropriate for adults with or without arthritis, rheumatic diseases or related musculoskeletal conditions, joint involvement and back pain, and those at a higher risk of falling.
